Throughout her life, Kay has tried many forms of physical fitness. In 2010, her best friend gave her a 10 day pass to Bikram Yoga Redmond, WA. Although her first class felt overwhelming, she decided to complete the 10 day challenge. Kay quickly realized the life changing benefits of this healing practice and knew almost immediately that she wanted to someday share this gift with others by becoming a certified Bikram Hot Yoga instructor. She believes that as we age, strength, balance and flexibility are critical for health, well-being and vitality. She also believes in and practices good nutrition.
In fall of 2013, Kay and her husband became “empty nesters”. Instead of returning to corporate America, she decided to attend the world renowned Bikram Hot Yoga Teacher Training in Los Angeles, CA. Since then she has been sharing her heart-felt passion for Bikram Hot Yoga with students in studios across the United States. In the fall of 2016, Kay received her Unnata Aeria Yoga Teacher Training certification at Aerial Fit in Charleston, SC. She also traveled to Vancouver BC to certify under Yin Masters Bernie Clark and Diana Batts. In the Spring of 2017 Kay attended Inferno Hot Pilates Teacher Training in Lake Norman, NC and trained directly under Gabriella Walters (founder of Inferno Hot Pilates). She has now incorporated this amazing fitness regimen into the studio schedule. She lives by the mantra “If you are strong, healthy and sound of mind, then you can help others & if you can help others help themselves, then you can change the world!

Crystal Cordoba, Certified Bikram and Vinyasa Instructor
Crystal has been a resident of South Carolina’s capital city since 2010. After suffering from a running injury in 2007, a co-worker recommended Bikram yoga as a low-impact workout. The practice enticed her from day one because it is truly a moving meditation and mind/body cleansing.
When Bikram Yoga Columbia opened in late 2012, Crystal gained an immediate sense of community at the studio and became even more enamored of the practice after completing a 60-day challenge in March of 2013.
It was the yoga challenge that altered her perception of what her body was capable of doing. Incorporating yoga into her life with such frequency sounded daunting, but it changed her. Never before had she felt more clear-headed and balanced, her body was stronger, and she began to identify with a more compassionate sense of self.
Crystal’s commitment to yoga was furthered after training for the Florida Regional USA Yoga Asana Championship in St. Augustine during January 2014. Once again, practicing with regularity and intention created something like a higher order shift within her, and she was determined to attend Bikram Yoga Teacher Training as soon as possible.
Crystal realized her goal to attend training and became a Bikram teacher in June 2014. In addition, she became Vinyasa certified in September 2015. Crystal has taught at a number of locations, including Lake Norman, North Carolina and throughout the Hamptons on Long Island, New York. It is her great pleasure to help others improve their lives one breath at a time.

Melanie Zareie – Certified Bikram and Yin Yoga Instructor
I began my yoga practice after years of low back pain and carpel tunnel syndrome. I was so unhappy and desperate for healing. I remember my first Bikram yoga class, being so angry at the teacher for talking so much during class, feeling so overwhelmed by the heat, and just broken in my body. One thing the teacher said stuck with me: in wind removing pose she said, eventually when you improve your skeletal system your whole spine will be flat on the floor. This seemed like an extraordinary claim considering my arthritis in my lower back prevented me from even being able to lie down flat….but nevertheless it motivated me to keep coming to class and trying because I just felt too young to be in that much pain. Now I can only vaguely remember the pain I was in but I do know that getting out of back pain was only one of the many benefits I’ve had in my life since beginning a regular yoga practice. I now have an amazing yoga community, a happy and fulfilling home life, and a lot of energy to chase a 10 month old around my house! I believe this yoga is best form of healthcare! I enjoy celebrating with students when they share that they had a personal breakthrough in class. I love being a part of this very special yoga community which feels like family to me! I am so thrilled to teach you all at Harmony Hot Yoga take some classes from Kay too! You all are so lucky to have such an amazing yoga studio in Milledgeville and I look forward to seeing your happy smiling faces soon!
Dewey Forrester- Yin Yoga Instructor
Dewey recently received his Yin Yoga teaching certification In Vancouver Canada from Bernie Clark who is one of the more renowned masters of Yin yoga. Bernie is physicist from Waterloo University who combines his interest in yoga with an understanding of the underlying science. As a 1984 engineering graduate from Georgia Tech, Dewey enjoys teaching from this angle as well. Dewey enjoys the combination of gym workouts, hot yoga, and yin yoga as his formula for maintaining his wellness. He teaches the importance of Yin Yoga and why it is vital for us all to properly exercise our joints, tendons, and ligaments in parallel with exercising our muscles.
Dewey was inspired to become a Yin teacher after losing a significant amount of weight and then using Hot Yoga as a means to increase his cardiovascular stamina and maintain a healthy weight. He says ‘if I can do it, anyone can’.
His style of teaching uses the three basic elements of Yin Instruction. Get into the posture, relax and find your edge, and then hold the posture in stillness and peace allowing gravity and time to work their magic on your joints. Dewey provides information on the science, physics, and health benefits of each Yin posture.
Dewey teaches our Sunday evening candlelight class where prayer is encouraged during the quiet times of the class. As a piano musician, he plays his own light piano arrangements of sacred hymns as background music.
